22 January 23 - Calor Gas Dropping Bottle Size

Welcome to another guide to camping blog from The Happy camper Store. Every week, we bring out a did you know blog that relates to camping, caravanning and motorhome life.

Calor Gas Facts - Learn about caravan and motorhome camping gas

Calor says it is dropping five bottle sizes from its range to try and improve supply of other bottles.

From 1 February it will stop supplying the Cube bottle and the 3.9kg and 6Lite Propane bottles, as well as the 4.5kg and 12kg butane bottles.

Why is calor gas dropping it's bottle size?

Calor says, it is dropping the bottles because it needs to streamline its supply chain. “Our existing range of cylinders is creating complexity within our supply chain. This means longer change over times and reduced filling capacity on high volume key sizes.

It claims there are suitable alternatives within its range, or within the Campingaz range. It says the 3.9kg propane bottle can easily be swapped for a 6kg propane bottle, while those originally wanting the 4.5kg butane bottle can go for a 7kg butane bottle instead. Now, this may mean looking at other power sources for heating such as diesel heaters which we can assist with. But more so, carrying more gas bottles with you which of course, takes up space. If you think you'll have issues due to the new Calor gas size bottles, call us today and lets see if there are alternative solutions to gas.
